Yinnan Shen is an Associate at Logos Consulting Group and a Fellow at Logos Institute for Crisis Management and Executive Leadership.
Yinnan provides leadership communication coaching and crisis simulation development to helps leaders make wise decisions and communicate more effectively when the stakes are high. In her role as a Fellow, Yinnan develops intellectual capital for the Institute’s idea laboratory, such as turning cultural differences into competitive advantage and applying neuroscience and psychology to the art of leading and communicating.
Yinnan teaches Elevate Multicultural Competence: Managing and Cultivating Cultural Differences to Advantage in the Professional Development and Leadership program at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. She has also guest-lectured at the Public Relations and Corporate Communication Master’s program at New York University and the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
With a multicultural background and bilingual capacity, Yinnan also develops and manages partnerships and business opportunities in China for Logos, including opportunities for thought leadership, teaching and speaking. In 2019, Yinnan secured the translation and publishing of the Chinese edition of Logos president Helio Fred Garcia’s book, The Agony of Decision, as well as arranged a speaking tour for the author in China for 2020.
Before joining Logos, Yinnan worked at ICR, a global strategic communication advisory company, where she conducted research and media outreach, and drafted communication documents for clients. Prior to that role, she served the Refilmery production company, where she managed and promoted the company’s twice monthly film screenings.
Before moving to New York, Yinnan’s held roles at Mercedes-Benz Auto Finance Beijing, Ogilvy Public Relations Beijing, and Xinhua News Agency, China’s largest news organization.
Yinnan holds a master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems.
She also earned certificates for the “Financial Accounting: Foundations” course from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as the Crisis Communication program from Public Relations Society of America.
Yinnan is an advanced scuba diver who has explored underwater sea life around the world. She is also an aspiring writer, with a growing following on her blog.
