BIO

Yinnan Shen is an Associate at Logos Consulting Group and a Fellow at Logos Institute for Crisis Management and Executive Leadership.

Yinnan helps leaders inspire change for the good. Yinnan coaches leaders from across industries on leadership communication and effective media engagement. She also helps organizations enhance crisis preparedness and manage choices when the stakes are high, including through crisis gap analysis, crisis plan drafting, crisis simulation development, and real-time crisis consultation.

Additionally, Yinnan advises leaders and organizations on the most effective approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) work and strategies to create an inclusive workplace culture.

In her role as a Fellow, Yinnan studies and develops intellectual capital around DE&I, cross-cultural communications, and the neuroscience and psychology of leading and communicating. In 2022, Yinnan earned certificate on “Diversity and Inclusion” from Cornell University and completed a course “Inclusive Leadership: The Power of Workplace Diversity” from the University of Colorado.

Yinnan teaches a course on elevating multicultural competence in the Professional Development and Leadership program at Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. She has also taught at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Master’s in Public Relations and Corporate Communication program at New York University.

Being bilingual and multicultural, Yinnan also serves as Logos’ business liaison in China. She develops and manages relationships and business opportunities in China. In 2019, Yinnan secured the translation and publishing of the Chinese edition of Logos president Helio Fred Garcia’s book, The Agony of Decision, as well as arranged a speaking tour for the author in China.

Before joining Logos, Yinnan worked at ICR, a global strategic communication advisory company, where she conducted research and media outreach, and drafted communication documents for clients. Prior to that role, she worked at the production company, Refilmery, where she managed and promoted a monthly film screening project.

Before moving to New York, Yinnan had experience working at Mercedes-Benz Auto Finance Beijing office, Ogilvy Public Relations Beijing, and Xinhua News Agency, China’s largest news organization.

Yinnan holds a Master’s in Public Relations and Corporate Communication from New York University and a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems from Beijing Language and Culture University. She also earned a certificate in Crisis Communication from the Public Relations Society of America and completed a course on “Financial Accounting: Foundations” from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

When she is not working, Yinnan travels, scuba dives, and writes on a personal blog that has hundreds of followers. Topics she has written about include travel, book/film reviews, and the #MeToo movement in China.
