In her consulting practice at the Logos Consulting Group, Barbara specializes in three areas: executive development, internal communications and leadership communications. She is also an expert on crisis management, crisis communications and media relations. As a Senior Fellow at the Logos Institute, she conducts customized training sessions and workshops in all of these areas. She also lectures on these topics as well as on career transition, entrepreneurship and art collecting. She has been a guest lecturer at New York University and the Graduate School of Journalism of Columbia University.
Barbara understands the crucial role that collaborative relationships and communication play in cultivating executive leadership and sustaining a supportive and productive organization. She has 22 years of experience advising and coaching senior executives at some of the largest and best-known companies in the world. Her clients have included multinational corporations, securities firms, banks, insurance companies, and specialized financial and professional service firms. During the course of her career, she has traveled to 46 countries and conducted business extensively in Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America.
She practiced law actively for 14 years and worked for 8 years as a senior legal advisor at Mitsubishi Corporation and its U.S. subsidiary, Mitsubishi International Corporation. Three of those years were spent living and working in Tokyo, Japan. While at Mitsubishi, Barbara managed a broad transactional practice focused on international joint ventures and other long-term investment structures. She regularly advised key executives, including the president and managing directors of the company, on strategic planning, corporate governance and public relations matters. She became the first woman to be appointed an officer in Mitsubishi International Corporation. Prior to working at Mitsubishi, she worked at three major law firms, where she specialized in commercial real estate transactions.
Barbara graduated from Harvard University with an AB degree, cum laude, in Psychology and Social Relations. She received her JD degree from Columbia University, where she was a Charles Evans Hughes Fellow. She also studied painting and photography at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design.
