Ad Age Tips for Avoiding Chinese Burn Print E-mail

When Mattel's toy recall brought the safety of Chinese-made products to the front pages, Advertising Age magazine sought expert commentary on how companies can protect themselves from consumer backlash.  Logos Institute executive director Helio Fred Garcia provided the following commentary:  "Any product made in China is now vulnerable.  You don't want to be the company that seemed not to care when the world noticed that Chinese products were unsafe." Logos Crisis Article Wins Award for Excellence from Emerald Literati Network Print E-mail

"Effective Leadership Response to Crisis" by Helio Fred Garcia, which appeared in the January/February issue of the peer-reviewed management journal Strategy & Leadership, has been honored at the Emerald Literati Network 2007 Awards for Excellence.  The article received the 2007 Highly Commended Award, indicating that it was "one of the most impressive pieces of work" the journal's editorial team saw throughout 2006.  The editorial team that recommended the award consists of eminent academics and corporate managers who review articles for Strategy & Leadership.  Emerald, the publisher of Strategy & Leadership, is the world's leading publisher of management journals and databases.

 
LOGOS comments on Duke's reaction to accusations against students Print E-mail

When charges were dropped against the members of the Duke Lacrosse team, the Chronicle of Higher Education invited LOGOS Institute executive director Helio Fred Garcia to reflect on lessons other universities can learn from the Duke scandal. Excerpts, in the form of an expert roundtable, appeared in the Chronicle's April 20, 2007 issue.
